At the invitation of the ZDK Ministry of Economy and the Zenica Business Association, former Croatian President and the last President of the SFRY Presidency, Stjepan Mesić, paid a two-day visit to Zenica.
On the first day, a public forum was held at Hotel Zenica on the topics "The State, Development and Future of the ZDK Economy and the Region" and "Bosnia and Herzegovina from Dayton to the Present Day." Participants included Minister of Economy Samir Sibonjic, Dijana Babić, President of the ZDK Chamber of Commerce, and Enes Karić, President of the Zenica Business Association.

"The mission of the Ministry is to halt the emigration of our people and create the conditions for their return," Minister Sibonjic stated.
Mr Mesić encouraged the business community and highlighted that ZDK is an industrial region with enormous potential. In his responses to questions from entrepreneurs, he conveyed several important messages: BiH and ZDK enjoy a strong reputation among European buyers, competent individuals should be appointed to key positions, business leaders should be included in all spheres of public life, and he expressed his support for BiH on its European path.
On the second day, Prime Minister Amra Mehmedić received President Mesić. On that occasion, Minister Sibonjic presented President Mesić with the ZDK coat of arms as a memento of the visit.
