President of the Bosnian Association Ljiljan from Italy Visits the Ministry of Economy of ZDK

Mirsad Starčević, president of the Bosnian Association Ljiljan from Italy, visited the ZDK Ministry of Economy and presented the association's diaspora work.

The Ministry of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton was visited by Mirsad Starčević, president of the Bosnian Association "Ljiljan" which brings together people from the Canton in the diaspora, based in Italy. Starčević informed Minister Sibonjic about the work of the association, which was founded in December 2012 with the aim of assisting in the integration and organization of the lives of compatriots and preserving the Bosnian language, culture, and customs.

The association "Ljiljan" has carried out numerous activities, including the establishment of a Supplementary School in cooperation with BiH institutions, the organization of the annual Peace March in memory of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, and the signing of cooperation agreements with municipalities from BiH and Italy. In cooperation with the municipality of Ronjo, the Srebrenica Flower monument was also built, and within the framework of the friendship agreement, sports and cultural exchanges were organized for young people from the municipalities of Zavidovići, Maglaj, and Tešanj with teams from Italy.

The Ministry of Economy expressed gratitude for the visit and readiness for further cooperation with the diaspora, particularly in strengthening economic ties between Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community in Italy, which numbers approximately 1,400 members in that part of the country.
