Representatives of 16 major Turkish tour operators and Pegasus Airlines visited ZDK to explore the Canton's tourism potential.
Organised by the ZDK Ministry of Economy, led by Minister Samir Sibonjic, and the Zenica-Doboj Canton Tourist Board, led by Acting Director Jasmin Šarić, a visit by representatives of leading Turkish tour operators to the Zenica-Doboj Canton was arranged to present the region's tourism potential. The delegation comprised 16 major Turkish tour operators and Pegasus Airlines, Türkiye's largest private airline, including renowned brands such as Pronto, ETS, Setur, Touristica, Vay Tour, and Ikram Tour, which cover approximately 80% of all tourist visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans.
During the visit, the tour operators explored the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Canton. Guests first visited Zavidovići and the Stone Spheres Park, home to the largest stone sphere site in Europe, then proceeded to the Tajan Nature Park and its golf course, where course director Adnan Šabanović prepared a presentation. They also visited the newly opened BIGA Hotel in Zavidovići and attended a presentation of tourism potential across all 12 cities and municipalities at Hotel Zenica, followed by B2B meetings with local agencies and hoteliers.
The programme continued in the city of Visoko, where guests were welcomed by representatives of Hotel VEMA, Mayor Mirza Ganić, and ZDK Minister of Interior Emir Vrača. A tasting of traditional dishes and local specialities was organised, and the following day guests toured Visoko's tourist destinations, including the Tabačka Mosque, city museums, and Ravne Park with its pyramids and tunnels. Acting Director Šarić noted that this was the first visit of its kind to the Canton and an important step towards improving tourism cooperation.
