Minister Sibonjic visited PET Servis in Zenica, a company that grew from two employees to 30 workers in the waste recycling sector.
Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic visited the company PET Servis d.o.o. in Zenica. In a meeting with the management, the Minister was briefed on the company's operations and development plans. He noted that PET Servis serves as an example of how small enterprises, through dedicated work, knowledge and a clear vision, can grow into successful companies that contribute to cleaner and healthier cities.
PET Servis was founded in 2014 on the initiative of two young people with extensive experience in the waste industry. From an initial workforce of two, the company has grown to 30 employees with plans for further expansion. Its activities encompass the purchase, sorting and trading of recyclable waste, including various types of paper and plastic, with the goal of transitioning to the production of finished products. The company's geographic reach spans Bosnia and Herzegovina, former Yugoslav countries and European Union member states.
In 2019, the company built a large recycling facility in accordance with European standards, contributing to the elimination of illegal landfills and environmental preservation. Investments were made in waste sorting machinery and a collection vehicle fleet, all aimed at faster and more efficient waste management in an environmentally sustainable manner. Beyond its own employees and their families, the company also supports the livelihoods of a significant number of waste collectors in the wider community.
