The central programme was hosted by Tarik Filipović, with addresses by Prof. Dr. Ivo Josipović and Academician Mirsada Hukić lending a special distinction to the event. The speakers highlighted messages of peace, good neighbourly relations, and a shared European perspective, emphasising that peace, stability, and mutual respect are values that must be upheld and strengthened on a daily basis. The programme was held in a packed Theatre hall, confirming the significance that citizens attach to the commemoration of this date.

As part of the day-long commemoration programme, flowers were laid at memorials to the fighters for freedom, while the ceremonial part of the evening concluded with a joint iftar, sending a message of unity and responsibility towards future generations.
