Cooperation with Bosnia International Forum for Strengthening Diaspora Ties

Minister Sibonjic met with the Bosnia International Forum president to discuss strengthening diaspora economic ties and the Project 5525 concept.

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic and President of the Bosnia International Forum Hasib Hadžić discussed modalities of cooperation aimed at strengthening ties between the economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton and business people in the diaspora. The occasion for the meeting was the upcoming economic summit, at which diaspora representatives will actively participate with the intention of encouraging concrete engagement through investment projects.

The discussions focused on "Project 5525", a proven concept of investing in projects and small and medium-sized enterprises, where all participants find their interests through savings, profit, securing livelihoods, creating new jobs, and utilizing existing resources at partner local communities. Minister Sibonjic emphasized that one of the Ministry's priorities will be strengthening ties between the canton's business people and their stronger connection with the homeland.

The Bosnia International Forum is an organization that encompasses all segments of relations with the diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from mutual communication through the Diaspora Register to the Diaspora Service. The long-term goals of the organization include investing in the knowledge of young people through mentorship by successful individuals, as well as jointly creating the "Vision BiH 2040" project — a multi-decade plan of prosperity and development strategy for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
