Minister Šibonjić attended an iftar with the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora in Valle Camonica, Italy, where more than 2,000 BiH citizens reside.
Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Šibonjić attended an iftar gathering with members of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora in the Valle Camonica region of Italy, organised by the Ital-Bosna congregation - the first organised Bosniak congregation in Italy and the foundation upon which the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Italy was established. More than 2,000 citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina live and work in this region, many of whom have roots and families in Zenica-Doboj Canton.
In addition to Minister Šibonjić, the iftar was attended by Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton Nezir Pivić, Professor of Geopolitics and International Relations Jahja Muhasilović, Consul at the Consulate General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Milan Arijana Džogović, and Executive Director of NTV Hayat News Programme Senad Omerašević. A large number of successful businesspeople originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina were also present, with whom discussions were held on economic opportunities and investment possibilities in Zenica-Doboj Canton.
During the visit, Minister Šibonjić learned about the work of the community, which has invested significant effort in purchasing and renovating a mosque space that will serve as a future Bosniak cultural centre in this part of Italy. The Minister highlighted the importance of the diaspora as a bridge connecting Bosnia and Herzegovina with the countries in which its citizens live and work, and confirmed the commitment of Zenica-Doboj Canton institutions to strengthening cooperation with the diaspora and supporting initiatives that contribute to the preservation of identity and economic ties.
