Meeting of Minister Sibonjic with Representatives of RMU Breza: Support for Continued Operation and Job Preservation

A meeting was held in the cabinet of Minister of Economy of ZDK Samir Sibonjic with representatives of the Brown Coal Mine Breza (RMU Breza), led by Director Mirza Avdukić. The representatives informed the Minister about the current state of the mine and the challenges in daily operations, with particular emphasis on the coal exploration and exploitation concession, as the existing exploitation permit expires next year.

One of the key conditions for issuing a new permit is the conclusion of a concession agreement with the Ministry of Economy of ZDK, about which concrete discussions were held. Minister Sibonjic emphasised the importance of the continued operation of RMU Breza, which currently employs 850 workers, and stressed that the Ministry will take all necessary steps to enable uninterrupted operation of the mine and preserve jobs.

It was concluded that further activities will be directed toward fulfilling all conditions required for the concession award. Signing the concession agreement will bring benefits for the mine, employees, and the local community through concession fee payments into the budget of the Municipality of Breza, directly contributing to improving the quality of life for citizens.
