Minister Sibonjic spoke with representatives of RMU Breza

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic spoke with representatives of the Brown Coal Mine Breza (RMU Breza) about the situation at the mine and activities related to granting a concession for coal exploration and exploitation. It was noted that RMU Breza faces problems with the certification of documentation under the jurisdiction of the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, as a prerequisite for certification is a concession agreement signed with the ZDK Ministry of Economy.

The specificity of RMU Breza's concession request lies in the fact that the ore fields for coal exploitation extend across two cantons and three local self-government units – Breza, Visoko and Ilijaš. This complex administrative situation requires a coordinated approach by all competent institutions to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of mining activities.

Minister Sibonjic, together with his associates, expressed readiness to find efficient solutions to sign a concession agreement with RMU Breza and announced that he would visit the mine soon. Resolving this matter is important for preserving jobs and economic stability in the Breza region.
