

Minister of Economy of ZDK Samir Sibonjic on an Official Visit to the Municipality of Maglaj
Minister Sibonjic visited the Municipality of Maglaj. Business zones, IT HUB for youth, and tourism development in Maglaj discussed.
Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Samir Sibonjic, paid his first official visit to the Municipality of Maglaj, together with the Director of the ZDK Tourist Board, Šaban Ibrišimović. During the meeting with Mayor Maid Suljaković and his associates – Nermin Bešlagić, Advisor for Local Development, and Faris Habibović, Assistant for Urban Planning, Geodetic and Property-Legal Affairs – it was assessed that the cooperation between the Ministry and the Municipality has been very successful, and concrete results of joint projects were highlighted.
Discussions focused on the Ministry of Economy's support in implementing infrastructure and development initiatives, with particular emphasis on business zones, tourism, and cultural-historical heritage, such as the Megara cave complex on Ozren and the restoration of Gradina. "The ZDK Government continuously works on creating a better business environment, both in Maglaj and across the canton. I am particularly pleased that we will soon implement several important projects – from the revitalization of Gradina to the infrastructure improvement of the industrial zone in Novi Šeher. Also, I am proud to announce that on September 20 we will open a modern IT HUB for young people in Maglaj, providing them with a new perspective and opportunity in the IT sector," stated Minister Sibonjic.
Mayor Suljaković highlighted that the municipality is in the final phase of preparing the Spatial Plan, which envisions the establishment of new business zones with a total area of approximately 10 hectares, with concrete inquiries from potential investors, primarily from the EU and export-oriented companies. Director of the ZDK Tourist Board Šaban Ibrišimović praised the Municipality's efforts in tourism and noted the clear commitment of the local administration to tourism development, with the establishment of a municipal tourist board expected next year.
