Minister Sibonjic and Minister Čišija Agreed with REZ Agency Representatives to Launch an IT Hub in Zenica

Minister of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic and Minister of Finance Dženana Čišija held a meeting with representatives of the Regional Development Agency REZ to implement the project of establishing an IT hub and start-up incubator in Zenica. Steps were agreed upon for the implementation of the conceptual design for premises adaptation and procurement of equipment necessary for the IT hub's operation.

According to the agreed project timeline, the REZ agency, with the support of the Ministry of Economy, will complete the planned works and furnishing by the end of September, after which the first users will have the opportunity to utilise this important resource for the development of the IT scene in the Canton. The project is aligned with the Development Strategy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton for 2021-2027, which envisions resource-efficient economic development through innovation, technology transfer and digitalisation.

Minister Sibonjic highlighted that the IT hub will serve as a catalyst for the technological advancement of Zenica and the Canton, creating a dynamic centre of innovation and fostering the development of the local IT community. Through cooperation with entrepreneurs, the non-governmental sector, and educational and governmental institutions, the Ministry will work on creating a favourable environment for the growth of the technology sector and support for young talent.
