After Zavidovići – IT Hub Opened in Maglaj As Well

A modern IT hub was ceremonially opened in Maglaj, marking another important step in the implementation of the IT infrastructure development project in the Zenica-Doboj Canton. After Zavidovići, Maglaj becomes a new point on the canton's digital development map. The aim of the project is to create conditions for young people in the canton to learn, develop ideas, launch start-up projects and build careers in the IT sector.

The Ministry of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton secured 200,000 KM for the project's implementation, carried out by the Regional Development Agency REZ in cooperation with the Municipality of Maglaj. The IT hub is located in a modernly equipped Youth Resource Centre at the Edhem Mulabdić House of Culture, featuring modern computer equipment, a smart board and supporting facilities. Mayor of Maglaj Maid Suljaković noted that the development of the IT sector represents a great opportunity for young people.

Director of the REZ Agency Ismet Sarajlić highlighted plans to expand the initiative with the support of the ZDK Government and the Ministry of Economy, including the launch of a free IT academy lasting at least three years with top-level instructors. Minister Sibonjic emphasised that this space belongs to young people and that the Ministry's obligation is to provide conditions for learning, development and the launch of IT sector projects.
