Minister Sibonjic at the Sarajevo symposium highlighted the strategic importance of economic cooperation between Türkiye and BiH.
The Economic Symposium "Development of Economic Relations between Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina – Sustainable New Perspectives" was held in Sarajevo, organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Economic Research in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH and the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH. The symposium brought together representatives of chambers of commerce, institutions, investors and members of the business community from both countries, with the aim of strengthening economic cooperation and opening new development perspectives.
At the opening, Minister of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic addressed the attendees, highlighting the importance of strengthening economic ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Türkiye, as well as the need for connecting business people, exchanging knowledge and investment partnerships. The Minister emphasised that cooperation with Türkiye is not only friendly but strategic, assessing that the canton economy has enormous potential for joint projects that can contribute to creating new jobs, increasing exports and driving growth.
The symposium is part of a broader initiative aimed at deepening economic relations between the two countries, ten years after the first gathering of this kind. Minister Sibonjic took the opportunity to invite domestic and Turkish companies to participate in the International General BH Business Fair ZEPS 2026, assessing it as an example of building domestic brands with international significance.
