The Era of Stronger Economic Cooperation Between BiH and Türkiye Is Yet to Come

Minister Sibonjic presented ZDK's economic advantages at the DEIK Congress in Istanbul, highlighting Natron Maglaj and the wood, metal and food industries.

The Minister of Economy of Zeničko-Dobojski Canton, Samir Sibonjic, attended the Congress of the World Turkish Business Council within DEIK in Istanbul, at the invitation of the Foreign Economic Relations Board. The Congress brought together more than 4,000 participants, with special significance lent by the presence of President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, and Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat.

Minister Sibonjic briefed Turkish officials and colleagues on the successful cooperation to date with Turkish companies and investors, highlighting the example of Natron Maglaj. He presented the comparative advantages of the ZDK economy in the wood, metal and food industries, positioning it as the driving force of development in Bosnia and Herzegovina with outstanding opportunities for investment and cooperation.

The Minister also attended an event organised by the successful German businessman of Turkish origin, Zekeriya Bayrak, which was attended by numerous business people from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Bulgaria and Türkiye, as well as distinguished academics and economic analysts. Minister Sibonjic concluded that the era of stronger economic cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Türkiye is yet to come.
