Minister Sibonjic Discussed Strengthening the Halal Industry in ZDK with the ICCD Secretary General

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Samir Sibonjic, met on the margins of the 14th Sarajevo Business Forum 2025 with H.E. Yousef Hasan Khalawi, Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), to discuss opportunities for strengthening the halal industry in Zenica-Doboj Canton.

Minister Sibonjic expressed the readiness of Zenica-Doboj Canton to actively contribute to positioning Bosnia and Herzegovina as a European halal center and supported initiatives leading to the strategic development of the halal industry. During the meeting, an invitation was extended to the ICCD to participate in the International ZEPS Fair 2025 in Zenica, as a platform for showcasing halal business, products, and investment opportunities.

This cooperation represents an important step toward opening new markets, attracting investments, and promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina as a reliable partner in the global halal economy. Positioning Zenica-Doboj Canton in this sector is of strategic importance for further economic development and international recognition of the region.
