On the last working day of 2023, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton adopted two important decisions at the proposal of the Ministry of Economy concerning the subsidization of crafts and the organization of fairs. The Government approved financial funds intended for subsidizing investments in crafts in the field of manufacturing activities and the performance of activities under the Regulation on the Protection of Traditional and Old Trades in the total amount of 533,810.07 KM.
Additionally, the Government adopted a decision approving financial funds for subsidizing part of the costs of organizing fairs and events in the total amount of 93,119.46 KM. In total, more than 620,000 KM was allocated for these purposes, confirming the cantonal authorities' commitment to supporting craftsmen and traditional trades.
Minister Sibonjic emphasized that traditional and old trades are important because they generate knowledge, professionals, and capable managers over time, noting that companies which are today leaders in economic activities emerged precisely from areas where crafts and artisan production were developed, such as Zenica, Tešanj, and Visoko. He also stressed the importance of fairs as the best opportunity to promote the Canton's economic potential.
