Sibonjic: Plans to Implement a Multi-Million Programme to Support the Development of Economic Competitiveness

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic held a meeting with representatives of the Economic-Social Council for the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Federation of BiH and City of Zenica Employers' and Entrepreneurs' Association. During the meeting, all possible forms of cooperation were discussed, and Minister Sibonjic presented the planned public calls and incentive measures for economic development in the canton.

The minister announced that the Ministry of Economy plans to implement in 2023 a Programme to Support the Development of Economic Competitiveness amounting to millions, which includes investment in equipment, subsidising craft investments in manufacturing and traditional crafts, covering administrative costs of production facility construction, tourism infrastructure projects, and subsidising interest on loans from the ZDK Government's Credit-Guarantee Fund.

Support measures for self-employment and start-up development, support for the IT sector in creating and exporting digital solutions, support for women's entrepreneurship, and support for chambers and associations are also planned. Minister Sibonjic emphasised that the ministry will do everything in its power to facilitate investors' investments in renewable energy sources and to create a more favourable business environment in Zenica-Doboj Canton.
