Visit to Zaha d.o.o. Žepče: A Diaspora Investment in the Homeland
Minister Sibonjic visited Zaha d.o.o. in Žepče, a successful diaspora investment from Switzerland employing 17 workers across four business units.
The Minister of Economy of Zeničko-Dobojski Canton, Samir Sibonjic, visited the company Zaha d.o.o. in Žepče, which represents a successful example of diaspora investment.
The investment was made by the owner, Nezir Nesko Bronja, who currently resides in Switzerland. The company employs an average of 17 workers across four business units: the Izzy general merchandise store, the Hayat Restaurant, the Zaha Benz petrol station, and Cafe No1 located within the petrol station complex. An investment to convert additional space into a hospitality venue is currently under way.
"There are increasingly more examples like this, in which successful business people from the diaspora invest in their homeland with the intention of achieving their own commercial benefit whilst also contributing to their country. It is the responsibility of us in the executive and legislative branches to do everything necessary to make this a common practice. Investment, growth and development are among the best ways we can make Bosnia and Herzegovina an even better place to live," Minister Sibonjic stated.
