8.2 Million KM Planned for Economic Competitiveness and Business Zones

The ZDK Government planned a record 8.2 million KM for competitiveness, focusing on IT, startups, and women entrepreneurship.

The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Ministry of Economy have planned 8.2 million KM for strengthening economic competitiveness and business zones, the largest amount since this support programme was launched. Of this total, 4.6 million KM is allocated for strengthening competitiveness, and 3.6 million KM for the construction and equipping of business zones.

Minister of Economy Samir Sibonjic noted that the canton has 22 business zones and that the Government and the relevant ministry are committed to continuing investment in them, thereby significantly improving the business environment and attracting investments.

"We are here to provide maximum support. I believe this is not yet enough, and in the coming years we will strive to make the incentives even stronger. We will do everything to ease business operations for enterprises, because the economy of ZDK is the pillar of the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Sibonjic.

The Ministry has begun implementing the incentive programme, supporting the participation of canton companies at the SIF fair in Sarajevo. The focus has been placed on the IT sector, startups, and women's entrepreneurship, and all programmes were developed in cooperation with the Economic and Social Council, the Employers' Association, and the ZDK Chamber of Commerce.
