

Better days ahead for tourism in Zenica-Doboj Canton
Minister Sibonjic participated in the GastroEthno panel in Zenica on the impact of gastro offerings on tourism development in ZDK.
Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic attended a panel on the topic of GastroEthno in Zenica, organised by Forum građana Zenica together with project creators Muhsin Ibrahimović and Prof. Dr. Irzada Taljić. The panel addressed the impact of the gastroethno offering on tourism development and the enrichment of the tourism offer in Zenica-Doboj Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Preserving tradition, which certainly encompasses a large number of outstanding culinary specialities from this region, represents an important part of the cultural identity and holds significance for the overall tourism presentation of the Canton and the country. Linking gastronomic heritage with tourism development opens new opportunities for the valorisation of local resources.
Minister Sibonjic announced that with the upcoming establishment of the Tourism Association of Zenica-Doboj Canton, efforts will focus on raising the quality of the tourism offering, with cooperation between tourism professionals, industry experts and academia serving as the main pillar of tourism development. He emphasised that the Ministry sees enormous potential in tourism development and expressed confidence that better days are ahead for this sector in the Canton.
