Minister Šibonjić visits Olovo Municipality and tours thermal tourism projects
Minister Šibonjić visited Olovo Municipality and toured thermal tourism projects, including the key project to increase accommodation capacity.
The Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Samir Šibonjić, visited Olovo Municipality, where together with representatives of the local authorities he toured projects realised with the support of the Ministry of Economy across this local community. During the visit, the discussion focused on the results of joint investments to date, as well as on the directions for the further development of Olovo as an increasingly recognised tourist destination within Zenica-Doboj Canton.
For years, Olovo Municipality has recorded steady growth in its cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, reflected in a series of successfully realised projects of significance for the development of the local community. Olovo is particularly known for thermal tourism and today stands as one of the record holders in Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of overnight stays per capita. This very potential makes the municipality an important partner in efforts to further strengthen the canton's tourism offer and position it on the domestic and regional markets.
Among the activities currently under way, particular attention was given to one of the largest projects in the cooperation between Olovo Municipality and the Ministry of Economy so far, aimed at increasing capacity for the development of thermal tourism. The project seeks to create new conditions for expanding accommodation capacity and attracting a greater number of visitors throughout the year. Minister Šibonjić emphasised that projects of this kind confirm the Ministry's commitment to supporting local communities with a clear development vision. "Olovo is proof that continuous cooperation and smart investment deliver concrete results, and the Ministry remains committed to the further strengthening of our canton's tourism potential," said Minister Šibonjić.
