

Contracts Signed for Financing Religious Community Projects in Zenica and Kakanj: Additional 200,000 KM for Completion of the Islamic Cultural Centre
ZDK Government signed 350,000 KM contracts for religious community projects in Zenica and Kakanj, including the Islamic Cultural Centre.
At the headquarters of the Government of Zeničko-Dobojski Canton, contracts were signed for financing infrastructure projects of religious communities in the City of Zenica and the Municipality of Kakanj with a total value of 350,000 KM. The funds include 200,000 KM for completing the Islamic Cultural Centre in Zenica, 50,000 KM for the city gasulhana, 55,000 KM for a new mosque in Nemila, 30,000 KM for an auxiliary building of the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Kakanj, and 15,000 KM for the renovation of the bell tower of the parish church in Vukanovići.
Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mirza Mušija, in the presence of Premier Nezir Pivić, signed contracts with Zenica Mufti Mevludin ef. Dizdarević, President of the Majlis of the Islamic Community Zenica Besim Begić, Kakanj parish priest Dragiša Cvjetković, and parish priest Slaviša Stavnjak. Since 2005, approximately 10 million KM has been invested in the Islamic Cultural Centre, with the ZDK Government contributing around 800,000 KM. The 5,500 m2 centre includes a library, reading room, kindergarten, mekteb, and conference facilities.
Premier Pivić emphasised that religious communities are extremely important for society and that this is not the end of support in the current budget year. Zenica Mufti Dr. Mevludin ef. Dizdarević thanked the Government for supporting all religious communities, noting that in doing so, it supports beneficial projects for the entire community.
