Johannes Hahn Received Minister Sibonjic and ZEPS Delegation in Vienna

Johannes Hahn received Minister Sibonjic and the ZEPS delegation in Vienna, with the Federation of Austrian Industry pledging support for ZEPS.

Johannes Hahn, former EU Commissioner, advisor to the Federation of Austrian Industry and as of 1 January 2026 the new President of the General Council of the Austrian National Bank, received Minister of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic and a delegation of the International General BH Economy Fair ZEPS in Vienna. The delegation included Director Elvir Ajanović, Executive Director Sanel Ibrić, Director of Corporate Communications Adis Hasaković, and Hurem Avdić, Director of ViennaLink, the business agency representing ZEPS in Austria.

The discussions focused on the institutional positioning of ZEPS, the role of Austria in economic cooperation, opportunities for joint initiatives, and prospects for investment in the Zenica-Doboj Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mr Hahn put forward proposals for enhancing institutional support for the participation of Austrian companies at the ZEPS fair, and it was announced that the Federation of Austrian Industry would invite its 5,000 member companies to participate at ZEPS.

Minister Sibonjic invited Austrian investors to invest in the Zenica-Doboj Canton, highlighting excellent conditions, a skilled workforce, low corporate tax, favourable energy prices and numerous industrial zones. He presented the latest trade data for the January-September 2025 period, with exports to Austria amounting to 154.5 million KM, an increase compared to the same period of the previous year, while imports from Austria amounted to 66.8 million KM.
