Meeting with Prof. Dr. Veysal Eroglu, Author of the Book "The Birth of a Leader"

Minister of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic, together with Mayor of Zavidovići Erna Merdić Smailhodžić, met with Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu, one of the most distinguished Turkish experts in water management and former Minister of Water Management and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye. During his career, Prof. Eroğlu solved the water supply of Istanbul as director of ISKI water and sewage utility, with one of his greatest undertakings being the construction of a water pipeline to Cyprus.

Prof. Eroğlu is also one of the founders of the International University of Sarajevo and a longstanding friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the meeting, the delegation presented the city of Zavidovići and planned projects, including the initiative for constructing a modern MDF medium-density fibreboard factory, as well as opportunities for Turkish companies to participate in trade fairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Prof. Eroğlu gifted the delegation three of his books describing in detail the projects he realised throughout his distinguished career in water management and environmental protection. The meeting confirmed the importance of further strengthening cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Türkiye in the fields of infrastructure, economy, and academic exchange.
