Minister Šibonjić attended the Day of War Disabled Veterans of Zenica-Doboj Canton

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Šibonjić attended the marking of the Day of War Disabled Veterans of Zenica-Doboj Canton, held in Zavidovići. The commemoration was attended by representatives of the Association of War Disabled Veterans of Zenica-Doboj Canton, family members, representatives of institutions and numerous guests.

The Association of War Disabled Veterans of Zenica-Doboj Canton brings together persons who sustained permanent health consequences during the defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and operates across the entire canton through its municipal organisations. Its activities are focused on protecting the status rights of war disabled veterans, on matters of social and health care, and on preserving the memory of the period of the country's defence. The Day of War Disabled Veterans is marked as an occasion to draw attention to the position of this population and to the obligations of the community towards it.

During the commemoration, Minister Šibonjić paid his respects to war disabled veterans and their families, emphasising that the courage and sacrifice of these people form the foundation on which the freedom of Bosnia and Herzegovina rests. It was assessed that such dates are an occasion to recall the obligation to preserve the values for which the country's defenders fought, and also to work concretely on improving their everyday position. The Ministry of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton remains committed to supporting measures that make it easier for war disabled veterans and their family members to find employment and start their own business activities.
