Minister Šibonjić held talks with Turkish MPs at the Grand National Assembly

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Šibonjić held a meeting at the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye (TBMM) as part of an official visit to Ankara. His interlocutors were Refik Özen, Member of Parliament for Bursa, Deputy Chair of the National Defence Committee and Chair of the Türkiye - Bosnia and Herzegovina Interparliamentary Friendship Group, and Dr Hasan Sert, member of the Central Decision and Executive Committee (MKYK) of the AK Party.

The Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye is the highest legislative body of the Turkish state, and the interparliamentary friendship groups operating within it represent one of the most important channels for maintaining political and economic ties with partner countries. Through its work, the Türkiye - Bosnia and Herzegovina Friendship Group supports contacts between the institutions of the two countries, visits by business delegations and the realisation of joint initiatives. Such channels are of particular value at the cantonal level, as they provide direct access to interlocutors who decide on the framework of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting addressed the strengthening of economic ties, the improvement of bilateral cooperation and the deepening of friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Türkiye, along with the possibilities for launching joint projects. „I thank the esteemed interlocutors for the constructive dialogue and for their readiness to actively contribute to the development of our joint projects and partnership," said Minister Šibonjić. The Ministry of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton remains committed to strengthening ties with the institutions of the Republic of Türkiye and to creating the conditions for concrete economic cooperation in the interest of citizens of both countries.
