Minister Šibonjić attends traditional gathering of Turkey alumni

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Šibonjić attended the traditional gathering of alumni of the Republic of Turkey, where he addressed the audience as a representative of the first generation of Bosnian-Herzegovinian students who left to study in the Republic of Turkey in the 1990s, in the period immediately following the war. This generation today represents a bridge of cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey, a bridge built on knowledge, mutual respect and the sincere friendship of the two peoples.

Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey today share an exceptionally strong strategic partnership, reflected through political support, economic investments and continuous cooperation in numerous fields, from education and culture to infrastructure and the economy. The network of Bosnian-Herzegovinian alumni who completed their studies in Turkey is large and active, and its members today work in public administration, academia, the economy and the non-governmental sector, thereby continuously contributing to the strengthening of ties between the two countries. It is precisely such ties that build stronger institutions, a stronger economy and a more secure future for new generations.

During his address, Minister Šibonjić expressed gratitude on behalf of all alumni to the representatives of the Republic of Turkey for the support and the opportunity provided to Bosnian-Herzegovinian students, in particular to the President of the Directorate for Diaspora and Related Communities, Abdulhadi Turus, as well as to the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Emin Akseki. „Our common obligation is to continue strengthening the friendship between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey through concrete projects, investments and institutional cooperation, for the benefit of all our citizens," said Minister Šibonjić. The Ministry of Economy remains committed to the further enhancement of economic and institutional cooperation with the Republic of Turkey.
