Minister Sibonjic Hosted Ambassador Dr. Nedim Makarević

Minister of Economy of Zeničko-Dobojski Canton Samir Sibonjic hosted Dr. Nedim Makarević, former Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Norway, and Iceland, who served the country for many years with particular emphasis on economic diplomacy. Discussions covered cooperation possibilities and the activities the Ministry is carrying out within the canton.

Special attention was devoted to the planned visit to canton-based entrepreneurs operating in Germany and across European countries, with the aim of connecting them with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dr. Makarević, born in Doboj and holding a doctorate in strategic management and IT security, has extensive experience working with major corporations including Volkswagen, Audi, Deutsche Bank, and Deutsche Telekom, as well as the governments of Malaysia, Germany, and BiH.

It was emphasised that a large number of successful people from Bosnia and Herzegovina live throughout Europe and that connecting them with their homeland represents one of the key strategic directions for strengthening economic diplomacy and attracting investment to Zeničko-Dobojski Canton.
