Minister Šibonjić signed contracts worth 116,942 KM supporting 17 fairs and events, including the “Tradicija i budućnost” fair in Zavidovići.
Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Šibonjić signed contracts at the Ministry of Economy for the allocation of funds to support fairs and public events. A total of 17 projects have been supported, with 116,942 KM allocated for their implementation. The funds are directed to the City of Zavidovići, the Municipality of Žepče and the Municipality of Usora, as well as to numerous associations whose work contributes to the promotion of local communities, culture, tradition, sport and tourism.
A special place among the supported projects belongs to the “Tradicija i budućnost” (Tradition and Future) fair of the City of Zavidovići, organised to mark Zavidovići City Day. Support was also granted to events including Čelični izazov, the 5K Race 2026, Days of Bosnian Cuisine and EkoSlav Fest, as well as music festivals and the Summer Evenings of Studio Theatre Zenica. Support for fairs and events forms part of the programmes through which the Ministry of Economy continuously encourages the development of the economy and tourism, and on 24 August 2026 the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, on the Ministry’s proposal, adopted programmes that include support for organising fairs.
The Ministry emphasised that such investments are not merely financial support for organisers, but investments in people, ideas, local tradition, tourism, culture and the promotion of the canton’s cities and municipalities. Fairs and events also have a direct economic impact, as they give local producers, caterers and craftspeople an opportunity to present and sell their products. The Ministry of Economy remains committed to supporting projects that bring citizens together, attract visitors and create new value for the local communities of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
