Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Šibonjić visited the Bosnian pyramids complex in Visoko, where he took part in a professional visit organised by the Foundation “Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun”. The aim of the visit was to learn about current activities at the complex and its potential for tourism development in Zenica-Doboj Canton.

The Foundation “Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that leads research and development of the complex in the Visoko valley. The complex includes the prehistoric Ravne complex, an underground labyrinth that has become one of Visoko’s most visited attractions. It also includes the “Ravne 2” park, the Foundation’s museum exhibition and a number of sites around the town. Visoko, whose Visočica hill is also home to the medieval royal town of Visoki, attracts thousands of domestic and foreign visitors every year.

During the visit, Minister Šibonjić toured the Foundation’s museum exhibition, the prehistoric Ravne complex, archaeological sites and the “Ravne 2” park. He was briefed on current research, the development of the complex and plans for the coming period. Particular attention was given to linking archaeology, science, culture, tourism and education, as well as to the complex’s potential for further developing the tourism offer and promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina. Visoko and the Bosnian pyramids complex are an important part of the tourism offer of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
