Sibonjic: More Than 100 Million KM of New Investments in Natron-Hayat

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic, together with the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of ZDK, attended a meeting with General Director Omer Eğilmez and members of the Board of Natron-Hayat. The meeting focused on current and planned investments in this company, which are of strategic importance for the Canton's economy.

Natron-Hayat is in the process of investing approximately 15 million KM to expand the production of mixed paper combining cellulose and waste paper, with machines partially paid for and installation expected in 2024. Additionally, the Group approved an investment of 55 million euros for the construction of a new boiler, replacing the one that exploded several years ago, with a completion deadline of mid-2025.

Regarding raw material supply, Natron-Hayat annually consumes approximately 200,000 tons of domestic coal without supplier issues, while wood supply presents challenges. Of the total annual consumption of approximately 500,000 cubic meters of wood, the ZDK Forestry Service plans to deliver 30,000 cubic meters with realization at 80%, and together with SBK forests, approximately 120,000 cubic meters should be delivered, while the remaining approximately 20 million euros worth of wood is procured through imports.
