Visit to Geomet d.o.o. Olovo - One of the Rare Companies Exporting to China

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic visited the company Geomet d.o.o. Olovo, which carries out exploitation and manages the lead mine in Olovo. This is one of the rare companies in BiH that exports its products as far as China, contributing to the improvement of the foreign trade balance with one of the world's largest economies. The company employs approximately 200 workers.

Geomet d.o.o. operates under the umbrella of the British company Mineco Limited from Croydon, an international group focused on the natural resources sector operating in commodity trading, base metal mining, and metal smelting and refining. Since 2010, the company has progressed from registration in Srebrenica, through obtaining a concession for cerussite exploration at the Očekalj and Prgoševo localities, to its current headquarters in Olovo.

Minister Sibonjic emphasized that it is the Ministry's obligation to create the best possible business environment for such companies, noting that ZDK's economy is the backbone and driver of development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was also attended by Naim Kadrić, a council member of the Olovo Municipal Council.
