ZDK and AHK: Increased Interest of German Companies in Bosna i Hercegovina

Working meeting of Premier Pivić and Minister Sibonjic with AHK on increased German company interest in investing in BiH.

Premier of Zeničko-Dobojski Canton Nezir Pivić and Minister of Economy Samir Sibonjic held a working meeting with representatives of the German Economy Representation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AHK) and member companies of the chamber from Zeničko-Dobojski Canton. AHK Deputy Director Azra Ramić noted that the interest of German companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina has intensified following economic disruptions in Europe, and that AHK, as the largest bilateral chamber in BiH with 26 years of operations, recognises BiH as an excellent investment location.

Premier Pivić emphasised that the canton is open to large investments, as demonstrated by the newly opened Adriatic Metals mine in Vareš. Minister Sibonjic highlighted that the Government prioritises the economy as the engine of society, and that incentives for businesses are being continuously increased alongside the introduction of new programmes to help companies strengthen their competitiveness in domestic and international markets.

The meeting also addressed the potential organised participation of companies from Zeničko-Dobojski Canton at the AHK Automotive Summit 2024 in Sarajevo, held under the patronage of the German Embassy and the Presidency of BiH. It was noted that upon the opening of EU accession negotiations, valuable European funds will become available to companies, and the ZDK Government is prepared to engage consultants to assist domestic companies with project applications.
