Minister Šibonjić and Mayor of Afyonkarahisar Visit Martyrs' Memorial in Zavidovići

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Šibonjić visited the memorial erected in honour of the martyrs who gave their lives in the defensive-liberation war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Zavidovići. The visit was attended by Mayor of Zavidovići Erna Merdić Smailhodžić, President of the Zavidovići City Council Amira Hodžić, and Mayor of the Turkish city of Afyonkarahisar Burcu Köksal.

By jointly paying tribute to the martyrs, the delegation honoured the bravery and sacrifice of the fighters whose struggle represents the foundation of the freedom and independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The visit to the memorial provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of preserving the memory of the victims of the defensive-liberation war and respecting the truth about the fight for the country's independence.

The presence of the Mayor of Afyonkarahisar confirmed the strong bonds of friendship between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Türkiye, founded on shared respect for those who gave their lives for freedom. The visit further strengthened inter-institutional cooperation and friendship between Zavidovići and the Turkish city of Afyonkarahisar.
