Minister Sibonjic: It Is Important to Establish Cooperation Between ZDK Economy and the University of Zenica

Minister of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic met with Dino Eminović, Coordinator for Development and Strategic Project Management at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Zenica. The Minister highlighted the importance of establishing cooperation between the business sector and the University of Zenica to create synergy and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and achievements.

It was announced that the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, in cooperation with the Regional Development Agency REZ, will launch a modern IT hub in Zenica for the development of the IT sector, which will be the first technology park of its kind in the Canton. Energy efficiency, green transition, the CBAM mechanism, information technologies and digitalisation were identified as key topics for the Ministry in the coming period.

Eminović presented the activities of the Centre for Energy Efficiency at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, which is authorised to prepare energy audits and certificates for buildings with complex systems in the Federation of BiH. It was agreed that the Canton's businesses would be introduced to the capabilities and services offered by the Centre, thereby establishing a concrete link between academia and the business sector.
