Minister Sibonjic: Modern Education Must Keep Pace with Green Transformation
Minister Sibonjic highlighted the importance of aligning vocational education with green transformation and labour market needs in ZDK.
Minister of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic addressed the attendees and emphasised that modern secondary vocational education must be aligned with the needs of the labour market and the processes of green transformation, which are already affecting all segments of the economy. He stressed that the Ministry of Economy strongly supports projects that connect educational institutions and business entities, as such partnerships enable students to acquire practical knowledge and skills that employers expect.
Minister Sibonjic particularly commended the development of Strategic Guidelines for Mobilising Business Entities and Integrating Green Competencies into Educational Programmes, noting that these represent concrete and measurable steps that change the system rather than just individual processes. He added that the Ministry of Economy will continue to be a strong partner to the Chamber of Commerce of ZDK, schools and employers.
Announcing the continuation of joint activities aimed at strengthening vocational education, digital and green transformation, and overall economic competitiveness, Minister Sibonjic concluded that students who begin adopting green learning outcomes from 2026 will be among the future leaders of a more modern and sustainable industry in the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
