Minister Šibonjić visited Keçiören Municipality in Ankara and discussed cooperation

Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Šibonjić paid an official visit to the Municipality of Keçiören in Ankara, one of the largest and most developed municipalities of the capital of the Republic of Türkiye. The delegation also included programme coordinator Timuçin Demir. The visit was hosted by the Mayor of Keçiören, Mesut Özarslan, who extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Keçiören ranks among the leading local communities in Ankara in terms of its level of development and the scope of work it carries out in local development, municipal infrastructure and support to businesses. These very experiences were the focus of the discussion, as certain elements of the working model applied by Turkish local communities can also be adapted to the practice of cantonal and municipal institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was organised as part of a broader programme aimed at strengthening institutional ties between the two countries.

The talks covered opportunities for improving institutional and economic cooperation, the exchange of experience in local development, the economy and investment, as well as the launch of joint projects. „I thank the esteemed Mayor Mesut Özarslan for the warm welcome, the sincere hospitality and the openness to future cooperation. I am convinced that this visit will contribute to the development of new joint projects and to further strengthening the institutional, economic and friendly ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Türkiye," said Minister Šibonjić. The visit represents another step in intensifying the international cooperation of Zenica-Doboj Canton and confirms the commitment of the Ministry to establishing partnerships that contribute to economic development and to the realisation of concrete development initiatives.
