Minister Šibonjić Visits Medica Zenica Safe House on International Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women's Day, Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton Samir Šibonjić visited the Medica Zenica Safe House. During the visit, discussions were held on possibilities of supporting women through economic projects and empowerment programmes, with a particular focus on starting small businesses and home-based activities.

The aim of the discussed initiatives is to enable women leaving the Safe House to secure their own source of income and start their own businesses, thereby ensuring their long-term economic stability and independence. Minister Šibonjić familiarised himself with the work of Medica Zenica and the support programmes that the organisation provides to women who have survived violence.

The visit provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on strengthening cooperation between institutions and civil society organisations in the field of women's economic empowerment. Minister Šibonjić highlighted the Ministry's commitment to supporting programmes that contribute to social inclusion and economic independence of women as an important segment of the overall economic development of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
