Renewal of Cooperation with the Sister Municipality of Nilufer - Bursa

During a working visit to Türkiye, a delegation led by ZDK Minister of Economy Samir Sibonjic and Mayor of Zavidovići Erna Merdić Smailhodžić held a working lunch with the Mayor of Nilüfer Municipality in Bursa, Mr. Şadi Özdemir, with the aim of renewing friendly and economic ties between the two local communities.

Nilüfer is one of the most important municipalities in the Bursa region, with more than half a million residents and significant participation in the Turkish economy, particularly as a leading centre in the metal, textile, and automotive industries. During the meeting, it was agreed that a delegation from Nilüfer Municipality would visit Zavidovići in May, while the Zavidovići delegation would make a return visit on Youth and Sports Day.

The hosts noted that relations between the two municipalities had been interrupted over the past two years, and that this meeting represents a renewal and strengthening of ties not only between the cities but also between the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Türkiye. The visit opens space for potential economic cooperation and the utilisation of resources that both communities possess.
