Vareš Municipality Day: Government Supports Adriatic Metals Investment
At the Vareš Municipality Day, Minister Sibonjic highlighted support for the Adriatic Metals investment of approximately 200 million KM.
The Municipality of Vareš celebrated its Municipality Day in the presence of representatives from the municipality and the Government of Zeničko-Dobojski Canton. The event was attended by the Speaker of the ZDK Assembly, Dejan Kovačević, Minister of Economy Samir Sibonjic, Minister of Finance Dženana Čišija, and Minister for Veterans' Affairs Adnan Sirovica.
This year's Municipality Day was marked by a focus on the investment in a new mine by the British company Adriatic Metals, which operates through Eastern Mining and has been awarded a concession for the exploration and exploitation of polymetals on the territory of the municipality.
In the preceding period, the ZDK Ministry of Economy invested significant efforts to ensure that the investment in Vareš complied with all legal regulations and that the investor received the necessary documentation and concession within the shortest possible timeframe.
"The ZDK Ministry of Economy has been and remains a facilitator for attracting investors, not an institution that exists solely for its own sake. The citizens, business community and the Mayor of Vareš will continue to have the full support of the Ministry on the shared path of realising important investments. The ZDK Government acts collectively on every investment undertaking. We remain committed to economic development, because the ZDK economy is the driving force behind the development of our homeland," Minister Sibonjic stated.
The Mayor of Vareš, Zdravko Marošević, expressed particular gratitude to the ZDK Government and the Ministry of Economy, emphasising that the investment, valued at approximately 200 million KM, benefits the wider region, including Zenica, Ilijaš, Breza and Sarajevo. "It has been 132 years since the first blast furnace was fired in Vareš. Today, Vareš once again has the opportunity to be a leader in investment in this part of BiH," stated the President of the Municipal Council, Mahira Brkić.
